Wow, where do I start. I suppose with an introduction to the couple: Guy Swanborough and Katarina Jovanovic (as Kat is a published scientist she has kept her surname in light of her career).
A stunning couple with a personality to match, these two met on campus at whilst studying Genetics. As such they chose a “science” theme for their wedding stationary and decor, incorporating scientific elements and quirks like the “periodic table of seating”, test tubes with scrolls (lotto tickets) as party favours and cylinders as vases. My favourite was when instead of mixing coloured sand together at the ceremony, they mixed two clear liquids which reacted to make a bright magenta! And it seems like the theme was a long time coming, as Guy had even designed Kat’s engagement ring to look like a DNA Helix!
Shepstone gardens provided the perfect setting for the affair with its stone architecture and English gardens, and we made sure to use every nook and cranny for the couple shoot.
The highlight of the reception was certainly Guy’s speech, which moved everyone in the room to tears (yes, even me). He even did a bit in Serbian in honour of Kat’s parents and heritage! Very impressive!
In consideration of guests from abroad and those who couldn’t make it, I might have gone a bit overboard with the sharing of images on this one – they were just all too gorgeous, even if I must say so myself.
I hope you will enjoy the journey through their special day as much as I have.
